Team Cuba Goes for the Grammys

Cuban music fared well in the competition for the 2011 Latin Grammys, as the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (LARAS) announced nominees earlier this month in 46 categories.

Fundación Cuba Avant-Garde Announces 2010 Grant Winners

Fundación Cuba Avant-Garde, the sponsoring organization for Cuban Art News, has announced the recipients of its first round of grant funding. A total of six projects were chosen from a field of 90 proposals submitted by U.S.-based cultural organizations, exploring different facets of Cuban art and culture.

Tania Bruguera at the Newberger Museum of Art

Recognized for her performance art since the 1980s, Tania Bruguera has presented her work at many museums and international exhibitions, such as Documenta 11,  three Venice Biennales, and the Tate Modern, London. Now, the Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase, New York presents On The Political Imaginary, the first survey of interdisciplinary work by the Cuban-born artist.
